Who's Who Among American College Students Selection Committee

I. Purpose

 A. Purpose: To select Who's Who recipients from nominations that are received from academic departments and recognized student organizations.

 B. Responsibilities

  1. Develop a time-line for the academic year with the approval of the Dean of Students.

  2. Distribute nomination forms to academic departments and recognized student organizations.

  3. Certify nominations and distribute the nominee data form to eligible students.

  4. Select from the eligible students.

  5. Distribute the approved list of students to the Dean of Students for final approval.

II. Membership

 A. Committee Coordinator: The Director of Student Activities, Organizations and Leadership  Development shall serve as the Committee Coordinator.  The Coordinator shall not have voting  power. The Committee Coordinator will be responsible for calling and presiding over meetings,  appointing a recorder for each meeting, and ensuring that minutes are distributed to all voting  and to the Dean of Students.

 B. Voting Membership: All members shall be appointed for a term of one year. A majority of voting members must be present to constitute quorum and conduct business.
  1. One faculty member, appointed by the Dean of Students
  2. Two students, appointed by the Dean of Students

III. Operational Plan

A. The committee will meet as needed or when called by the Committee Coordinator or the Dean of Students.
